You will want a loan that offers simple interest, payments will be monthly. Most banks will charge a small penalty if the loan is paid off in less than one year. The amount of the monthly payment is put towards the interest and principal balance. With other loans the interest owed is figured using a standard amortization table and if you prepay you will pay back the principal and the full amount of interest that will be due over the entire term of the loan.
Shop around but do not fill out applications with multiple lenders. Every time your credit is pulled it lowers your credit score. A prime question for the lender you are considering is "How many times will you pull my credit report?" We pull your credit twice. If for some reason the bank rejects your application we will notify you before allowing another bank to pull your credit again. There are lenders that may choose to ‘shot-gun’ your credit by submitting the application to multiple banks at the same time.
Remember, getting a ‘real’ instant quote may not really be as it sounds. No one can give you a real quote until the bank actually looks at your application. The lender that offers a quick quote is looking at your credit score and taking the chance that your credit profile is as it should be. They want your commitment first, sign on the line and then chances are they will come back with a higher rate than they quoted you.
